Service projects are a conerstone of scouting...

ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY - each spring & fall we help the American Legion, our chartering organization, by cleaning up their assigned areas along Hwy 45 & N Water St.

GOODWILL TRAILER COLLECTION - the first weekend in May and the second weekend in August is when we partner with Goodwill and help staff their collection trailer parked at Festival Foods.  This coincides with the citywide rummage sales so that people can drop off the items they want to donate to Goodwill - the scouts will unload their vehicles as they pull up & load the items into the semi trailer.

MOSQUITO HILL NATURE CENTER - we have helped with trail maintenance projects, growing milk weed plants from seed & building several bat houses for their bat education program.

PURPLE LOOSESTRIFE CONTROL - early July has us partnering with Mosquito Hill Nature Center, under the direction of the Wisconsin DNR, to release Galrucella beetles along area roads where purple loosestrife is actively growing.  These beetles are a natural defense against this very invasive plant species and help to control its spreading.

SCOUTING FOR FOOD - each year we help our local food pantry by distributing collection bags to residents of New London on the 2nd Saturday in October & then go out and collect the bags on the following Saturday.  We then take the donated items to the food pantry, sort them & help count them for the staff.

Some of our other projects include: NL Jaycees Car Show, NL Memorial Day Service, NL St. Pat's Parade, Salvation Army Red Kettle Bell Ringing & more
